Reiki is an ancient Japanese technique that channels universal life energy (Rei-ki) through the practitioner’s hands into the client’s energy field to help release blockages, reduce stress and pain, promote healing, and restore balance to the mind, body, and spirit. Because Reiki energy is guided by universal love and wisdom, it can do no harm and works beautifully alongside Western, Eastern, and traditional healing practices.

Reiki FAQs
-
Everyone’s experience is unique
Everyone experiences Reiki differently. Most people describe a deeply meditative state, sometimes with an accompanying sense of warmth, tingling, or gentle waves of energy flowing through the body. Others feel peaceful, emotional, or deeply relaxed. Some drift to sleep, while others cry, yawn, or even burp — all are normal responses as your energy begins to rebalance.
-
Listening to your body’s rhythm
There’s no single schedule that’s right for everyone. Some clients come weekly for ongoing stress relief or healing, while others schedule monthly or seasonally for maintenance and renewal. The best rhythm is the one your body and spirit ask for — follow what feels nourishing to you.
-
Energy beyond belief systems
Reiki is a spiritual practice, but it is not tied to any religion. It connects with universal life energy — a source of balance and compassion that honors all paths and faiths. Many people find that Reiki deepens, rather than replaces, their own personal beliefs.
-
Faith and healing energy in harmony
Many Christians embrace Reiki as a form of prayerful healing, understanding the energy as coming from God’s divine source of love and compassion. Some practitioners even feel called by God to share this gift of comfort and peace.

Energy transcends distance
Yes. Distance Reiki works through focused intention and energetic connection, allowing healing energy to flow no matter where you are. Many clients find remote sessions just as calming and effective as those received in person.
-
It is normal to be apprehensive when trying something new. Many of my clients have never had a Reiki session before, and are new to holistic health modalities. Your practitioners are certified Reiki master teachers and are happy to answer any questions that may arise.
One of the fundamentals of Reiki is that it can do no harm. You will be fully conscious during the whole session and can to stop at anytime.

Setting the tone for your session
You don’t need to do anything special — simply come with an open mind and heart. It can be helpful to set an intention before your session by thinking of one or two things you’d like to focus on.
For example:
“I’d like to feel lighter and less weighed down.”
“I want to find clarity around my relationship with my mom.”
“I’d like to feel more at peace.”
“I want to be in less pain.”
Your intention can be anything that feels true for you in this moment. Reiki will meet you exactly where you are.
-
Comfort and ease are key
Reiki is received fully clothed. Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to relax completely — soft fabrics, loose fits, and layers are ideal. You’ll rest on a comfortable massage table, surrounded by peaceful energy and gentle support.
-
Share what feels right for you
You can share as much or as little as you’d like. Some clients open up easily, while others prefer to simply experience Reiki without discussing much at all. The energy works either way.
Whatever feels comfortable for you is perfect — Reiki meets you where you are, without expectation or judgment.
-
Reiki is a space of compassion, not judgment
This is a question many people quietly wonder about. Before each session, I set the intention to step aside from my personality and ego so the energy can flow freely. Because of that, I usually remember very little of what happens — which is why I sometimes take brief notes on a whiteboard (and erase them as soon as you leave).
I also work with many clients, so while I may recall an experience, I don’t always remember who it was with. Everything shared is completely confidential and never discussed without consent.
My role is to hold space, not to judge. We are all human — beautifully imperfect and divinely guided. My purpose is to help lighten your load and clear the blocks that may stand in the way of your healing and growth.
